Denis, originally from Melbourne has returned to live there after many years in Sydney, where he worked and exhibited paintings strongly influenced by Sumi e ( Japanese ink painting) and Chinese calligraphy.
Notably, he was a student of Andre' Sollier, a master painter in the Zen arts tradition.
His work has been featured in publications such as Éast Gate West Gate (1991) by David Pepperal and Time being Time by Robert Lloyd (2015).
When not doing commissions or calligraphic work, Denis devotes his time to painting cats, producing one or more images a day. These felines have found homes throughout Australia and the world.
